When Fannie Mae devised the Know Your Options™ Customer Care program, the goal was simple: prevent foreclosures in the struggling economy by developing one-on-one relationships with homeowners, being trusted advisors in times of financial hardship, and educating clients on the wealth of options available to those faced with losing their homes. A mere year after inception, it appears that the program is doing its job.
Fannie Mae stocks its Know Your Options™ call centers with counselors specially trained in foreclosure prevention. While homeowners' initial instinct may be to give up or avoid their financial problems, Fannie Mae has made great strides in encouraging clients to reach out for help. With Know Your Options™ now available in 18 of the organization's service centers, clients have access to advice, webinars, and, most importantly, an agent assigned specifically to them with the assurance that everything possible will be done to rectify their specific case. Participating call centers have reported between a 20-30% increase in the resolution of foreclosures.
By preventing foreclosures, Fannie Mae has improved community well-being and the ability of our citizens to realize and maintain the American dream.
